Children’s Ministry Reopening Procedures
(1st – 4th grades)
We have amazing services planned for children in 1st-4th grades. Below you will find helpful information regarding our Check-In Procedures, Cleaning Procedures, and Worship Experience so that your family can know what to expect when you arrive for a Sunday service.
Important Information
Reservations will be required for all children attending in-person services on Sunday morning. Please continue to follow Mount Paran Family Ministry on social media and at www.MountParanFamily.com for specific updates and to register.
To ensure the health and safety of those around you, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer often, and remember to maintain a distance of six feet between yourself and other guests.
If you or anyone you have been in close contact with have experienced any symptoms of illness such as: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or sore throat within the last 14 days, please refrain from attending. You can stream services online at www.mountparan.com.
Well Child Policy
We care about your family and want to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Thank you for helping us protect the well-being of all of our families and children by following these guidelines.
For the protection of all children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child who has had any of the following symptoms including symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) within the last 24 hours. Children who show signs of sickness will not be permitted in the children’s ministry areas. If an illness is observed after a child is in our ministry area, the child will be separated from the other children and the parent will be notified to pick up their child.
Symptoms of Coronavirus
Upon recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, children should not be taken from the home with any of the following.
Fever within the previous 24 hours
Vomiting or diarrhea
Any symptoms of infectious childhood disease such as chickenpox or measles
Common cold
Sore throat
Persistent cough
Contagious or unexplained rash
Pink eye or eye infection
Runny nose
For other COVID-19 related questions, please see our Check-In Procedures.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURES
Upon arrival, be ready for a redesigned check-in process to help support a safe environment. Our Well Child Policy will be posted at all entrance areas.
Adults and children 3 years and older are required to wear a face covering along with staff and volunteers.
Every staff member, volunteer, and child will be screened using a non-contact (temporal) thermometer before checking in to service. Persons who have a fever of 100.4 or above or other signs of illness will not be admitted.
Our touchless experience will extend to check-in as volunteers will help you at the check-in kiosks and handle sign-in sheets for you. For the convenience of our guests, our Welcome Desks will be equipped with clear protective dividers, hand sanitizer, and disposable face masks.
To reduce the amount of traffic in the children’s ministry areas, we ask that no more than one adult per child accompany children for drop-off and pick-up.
Be sure to use hand sanitizer or wash your hands before entering. Encourage your child to do the same.
You will see lots of smiles and waves, but let’s avoid hugs, high-fives, and handshakes.
ENHANCED CLEANING PROCEDURES
The safety of our children is our highest priority, so our team has adopted enhanced cleaning and sanitation procedures that include:
Hand sanitizing stations or hand sanitizing wipes in high traffic areas
Asking all volunteers and children to wash their hands upon entering the children’s ministry areas.
Wiping down all surfaces before and after each service with EPA-approved cleaners.
All rooms are professionally cleaned and thoroughly sanitized before and after each use.
CHILDREN’S WORSHIP EXPERIENCE
In addition to the cleaning procedures, we have adjusted certain aspects of the worship experience to improve cleanliness and safety. Some of these adjustments include:
Large dots marking seating areas for each child will be placed 6 ft. apart to promote social distancing.
Supplies for crafts or activities will be pre-apportioned for each child so children do not share supplies.
Children will be led to physically distance throughout the morning.
No outside food or beverages allowed.
Activities have been carefully selected to encourage as little contact as possible. Children will remain in the large-group setting for the entire service.
Power Play Game Room will remain closed for this season.
