WEEK 4 LESSON: April 27, 2025
WEEK 4 LESSON: April 27, 2025
G2K: Jesus connects us to God.
Memory Verse: 2 Peter 3:18a - “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Bible Lesson: Jesus Appears to His Disciples: John 20:19-31; John 15:1-13
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught the kids that Jesus connects us to God! God helps us all stay connected together through Jesus. Because Jesus died, was buried, and raised again, we can have a whole new life close to God. To reinforce this lesson, use this activity.
Instructions: For this Sun Catcher activity, you will need paper plates, clear adhesive shelf liner, flower petals, small leaves, and yarn or pipe cleaners. Prep your craft by cutting out the center circle of each paper plate. Help your kids place some shelf liner on the back of their paper plates. Then, have kids arrange some petals and leaves in the center of their plate on the sticky side of the shelf liner. Once they have finished, place more shelf liner over the petals and leaves, sealing them between the two layers of liner. Punch two holes at the top of the plate and tie off some yarn or pipe cleaners in the holes to finish the sun catcher. See a finished example here.
Beautiful things can happen when we remain in God. These sun catchers can help remind us of the ways we can remain connected to God’s light. Whenever we do, we get to see God’s light reflected in the world around us. We can grow closer to God because Jesus connects us to God.
FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.
