WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that Jesus is always with us! A book jacket shows what’s inside and makes us want to read more. When Jesus left for heaven, he told his friends to be like book jackets—help others want to know Jesus through their words and actions. And he would be with them (and us) through it all! True story—Jesus is always with us.

Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Give your child a copy of the Book Jacket handout to fold as marked. On the front, they title and illustrate the story, and on the back, they summarize it. Then they add a fun review (like “A story of wonder and promises!” or "Perfect for the whole family!") and fill out the “About the Author” section about themselves. Use this activity as a simple way to remind your child that wherever they go and whatever they do, Jesus is always with them.

FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.

Scripture Questions:

  • Jesus told his followers to stay in Jerusalem until they had received what?

  • When Jesus was going up into heaven, what hid him from their sight?

  • Read John 14:2. What does it mean when Jesus says he is "preparing a place" for you?

Application Questions:

  • What does it mean that Jesus is with you every day?

  • What can you do to show others that Jesus is always with them too?

  • How can you remind yourself today that Jesus is with you always?
