WEEK 3 LESSON: May 17, 2026

WEEK 3 LESSON: May 17, 2026

  • G2K: True story—God hears us when we pray.

  • Memory Verse: Romans 1:16

  • Bible Lesson: Peter’s Miraculous Escape: Acts 12:1–17; Ephesians 1:15–23

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that God hears us when we pray. Life can sometimes feel like a wild adventure story full of surprises, challenges, delays, and unexpected twists. But through every chapter, every high moment, and every difficult season, God is always listening. In our Bible story, the church prayed for Peter while he was in prison, and God answered in an amazing way. Sometimes God answers quickly, sometimes differently than we expect, and sometimes we must wait, but we can always trust that He hears every prayer. True story—God hears us when we pray.

Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Give your child strips of construction paper or cardstock along with drawing utensils and have them design their own bookmark featuring today’s Good to Know. Encourage them to decorate it with adventure themes, prayer reminders, or symbols that help them remember God is always listening. Every time they open a book and see their bookmark, they’ll be reminded that God hears them whenever they pray.

FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.

Scripture Questions:

  • In the prison, how did the angel save Peter?

  • What did Peter think was happening?

  • Read Ephesians 1:16. What is the author of this letter doing for his friends?

Application Questions:

  • What do you want to pray to God for today?

  • How do you think God wants you to be an answer to someone else's prayer?

  • How can you remind yourself today that God hears us when we pray?
