WEEK 4 LESSON: May 24, 2026
G2K: True story—The Holy Spirit gives us power.
Memory Verse: Romans 1:16
Bible Lesson: Paul and Silas: Acts 2:1–12, 16:16–40
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that the Holy Spirit gives us power. Life can sometimes feel like an adventure story filled with difficult moments, unexpected challenges, and situations that seem impossible. In our Bible story, Paul and Silas were put in prison, but instead of giving up, they worshipped and praised God. Then something amazing happened—the earth shook, the prison doors flew open, and God showed His power in an incredible way. Even in hard moments, the Holy Spirit gives us strength, courage, and power to keep trusting God. True story—the Holy Spirit gives us power.
Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; print out the Paul & Silas activity page. Adventure books often use pictures to show important moments, and this activity helps kids picture Paul and Silas worshipping in prison. Have your child color the images, fold the side flaps inward, and open them to reveal Paul and Silas praising God inside their cell. For an added challenge, kids can cut out the shaded sections to create “see-through” prison bars. View a worked example. Every time they open the flaps, they’ll be reminded that the Holy Spirit gives us power no matter what we face.
FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.
