WEEK 1 LESSON: June 7, 2026
WEEK 1 LESSON: June 7, 2026
G2K: God made the world and everything in it.
Memory Verse: Psalm 24:1 - “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
Bible Lesson: God Creates the World: Genesis 1:1–25, 2:1–3; Psalm 33:4–9
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we talked about how God carefully created every part of the Earth, from the land and sky to plants, animals, and everything in between, filling it with beauty and purpose. God started with nothing. The Earth was formless, but God had a clear vision for creation. To help us remember how God created the world, we’re going to take separate ingredients that don’t seem like much, but by mixing them, they will begin to take form and remind us of the incredible power and creativity of God.
Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; To make “Creation Slime”, have your child mix glue, baking soda, and a few drops of blue or green food coloring or liquid watercolors in a large glass bowl. (You can make one batch of blue slime and one batch of green slime.) Add a little glitter to represent the beauty of creation, then stir in contact lens solution until the slime begins to form. Knead it with your hands until it reaches the right consistency. For extra fun, add small animal charms or figurines to remind your child of the creatures God created. As you play with the slime, talk about how God brought order and beauty out of nothing. Remind your child that while we can create small things, only God has the power to create an entire world. See more detailed instructions here.
While we can't create an entire planet, our ability to create small things like this reminds us of our creator and gives us a glimpse of the incredible power and creativity of God. Let this Creation Slime be a reminder that God made the world and everything in it!
