WEEK 4 LESSON: June 28, 2026

WEEK 4 LESSON: June 28, 2026

G2K: God helps us make good choices.

Memory Verse: Psalm 24:1 - “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Bible Lesson: Cain and Abel - Genesis 4:2–16; Romans 6:12–13, 20–23

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that God helps us make good choices. In the story of Cain and Abel, both brothers brought offerings to God. Abel chose to honor God by giving his best, but Cain allowed jealousy and anger to take control of his heart. Before Cain made a terrible choice, God warned him that sin was trying to take over, but Cain chose not to listen. This story reminds us that our choices matter. God loves us and wants to help us choose what is right, even when it is difficult.

Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson at home; Help your child create a simple clay necklace with the image of a sheep pressed into the center. The sheep reminds us of Abel’s offering and points us to Jesus, who is called the Lamb of God. After shaping the clay into a circle, stamp or draw a sheep design, paint it, and add a string once it has dried. Encourage your child to write the Good To Know, “God helps us make good choices,” on a small tag to attach to the necklace or keep nearby as a reminder throughout the week.

Each time your child sees or wears their necklace, let it remind them that God always helps us choose what is right. Just as God warned Cain and gave him an opportunity to make a better choice, God guides us through His Word and the Holy Spirit. Most importantly, the sheep reminds us of Jesus, whose love makes it possible for us to follow God and honor Him with our lives. See a worked example here.
