WEEK 1 LESSON: July 5, 2026

WEEK 1 LESSON: July 5, 2026

G2K: We can believe God’s promises.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:1–2a - “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love.”

Bible Lesson: God Calls Abram - Genesis 12:1–5, 13:1–18; Psalm 145:8–14

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we talked about how God made a big promise to Abraham, asking him to faithfully step into the unknown. This promise was for his whole family and future generations, including us, so even when we don’t know what’s ahead, we can believe God’s promises!

Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Give your child black paper, metallic markers, washable paint, and glitter. Have them write the Good to Know on the black paper using metallic markers. Then, let them splatter paint and sprinkle glitter to represent dust. See a worked example here.

God promised Abram his family would be as countless as dust. That promise came true—Abram's family includes everyone who believes in God! Let the glitter and paint remind you of God's promise to Abram. We can believe God's promises!

FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.

Scripture Questions:

  • What did God tell Abram to do?

  • How did Abram respond to God?

  • Read Psalm 145:8. How is God described in this passage?

Application Questions:

  • How might you have responded if God sent you to a new land?

  • How can we learn more about God's promises to us?

  • Do you believe God's promises to you? How do you show that you believe them?
