WEEK 2 LESSON: July 12, 2026
G2K: We can pray for our families.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:1–2a - “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love.”
Bible Lesson: God Spares Lot’s Family: Genesis 18:20–33, 19:15–29; Psalm 65:1–8
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that we can pray for our families! In our Bible story, Abraham cared deeply for Lot and his family, so he prayed for them. God heard Abraham's prayers and helped rescue Lot and his family from danger. This story reminds us that prayer is one of the greatest ways we can show love and care for the people God has placed in our lives. God listens when we pray, and we can faithfully pray for our families every day.
Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Help your child create a Prayer Cube using the folding paper dice handout, crayons or markers, scissors, tape, and optional stickers. Before folding the cube together, encourage your child to decorate each side and write the names of family members or people who are like family. Include someone they are thankful for, someone who is sick, someone they may have difficulty getting along with, someone who needs encouragement, someone who needs help, and someone they want to know Jesus. Once completed, fold and tape the cube together.
Each day this week, invite your child to roll their Prayer Cube and pray for the person or family member shown on the top side. Encourage them to thank God for that person, ask God to help them, protect them, and remind them that they are loved. Just as Abraham prayed faithfully for Lot and his family, we can faithfully pray for the people God has placed in our lives because we can pray for our families! Let this Prayer Cube serve as a daily reminder that prayer matters, God hears our prayers, and we can always talk to Him about the people we love most.
