Bible Lesson: Jesus Comes to the World: John 1:1-18; (Ephesians 1:3-14)
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, your child learned that we can know God through Jesus. Throughout the Bible, Jesus shows us exactly what God is like. As you make these Know God Glasses together, use the conversation prompts to help your family discover more about God's love, kindness, forgiveness, and faithfulness. Our prayer is that this simple craft leads to meaningful conversations and reminds your child that the more we learn about Jesus, the more we know God.
Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity;
"Know God Glasses" π
Supplies: cardstock or construction paper, scissors, tape or glue, crayons or markers
What to Do:
Cut out a simple pair of oversized glasses (or use a template).
Decorate the glasses.
Inside the two lenses, write:
Left Lens: When I look at Jesus, I see...
Right Lens: God is...
Parents, help children fill in words such as:
Loving
Kind
Forgiving
Powerful
Faithful
Always with us
The lesson teaches that Jesus reveals who God is, because Jesus is God come to us.
FAMILY TIME: Have everyone wear the glasses and answer: βToday I saw Jesus show me that God is ____ because____β
Examples:
"...kind because my friend helped me."
"...loving because my family prayed with me."
"...faithful because God always keeps His promises."
