WEEK 4 LESSON: July 26, 2026
WEEK 4 LESSON: July 26, 2026
G2K: We’re all welcome in God’s family.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:1–2a - “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love.”
Bible Lesson: Jacob and Esau - Genesis 25:19–34, 27:1–33; Romans 8:31–39
WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that we're all welcome in God's family! In the story of Jacob and Esau, the two brothers made mistakes, argued, and hurt one another. Even so, God continued to work through their family and kept His promises. Through Jesus, God invites each of us into His family—not because we are perfect, but because He loves us. This story reminds us that everyone is welcome in God's family, and He wants us to help others feel welcome too.
Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Help your child create and decorate a Welcome Mat Craft using the Welcome Mat handout, colored pom-poms, yarn, glue, and markers. As they decorate their welcome mat, encourage them to write the Good to Know, "We're All Welcome in God's Family!" Talk about how a welcome mat lets people know they are invited and wanted. Remind your child that, just like a welcome mat, we can help others feel loved, included, and welcomed wherever we go. See a worked example here.
Each time your child sees their welcome mat, let it remind them that Jesus welcomed us into God's family, and we can help others feel welcome too!
