WEEK 3 LESSON: April 19, 2026

WEEK 3 LESSON: April 19, 2026

  • G2K: The Bible reveals who Jesus is.

  • Memory Verse: Romans 5:8

  • Bible Lesson: Jesus on the Road to Emmaus: Luke 24:13–35; Mark 9:2–13

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: This week, we taught that the Bible reveals who Jesus is even when the truth seems hard to understand or is hidden. Just like what happened on the road to Emmaus, the clues about Jesus are hidden in plain sight.

Weekly Challenge Instructions: To reinforce this lesson, use this activity; Give each of your kids a blank index card, red decoder glasses (or any transparent red material that can act like a red filter), and cyan, light blue, red, and orange colored pencils or crayons. Have kids use cyan or light blue to write or draw today's Good to Know, the memory verse, or doodles related to today's Bible story. Then have them conceal what they wrote in red and orange. Their original message should be visible using their decoder glasses. Use your decoder glasses to make sure the truth you learned today will always be revealed to you and others!

FAMILY TIME: Use these questions to start a conversation with your children about this week’s lesson.

Scripture Questions:

  • What did Jesus teach the two disciples about as he walked along with them?

  • As soon as they discovered that the mystery man was Jesus, what did they do?

  • Read Mark 9:7. What was revealed about Jesus on that mountain?

Application Questions:

  • Who can you ask for help if you read something in the Bible that you don't understand?

  • With the knowledge you have, are there people who you can help to understand the Bible and who Jesus is?

  • Who can you share the story of Jesus with? What would you say?
